From February, 1960 "Boats" magazine. This is a strange one.
This unusual commercial fishing craft combines the stern of a catamaran with a conventional bow of a single-hulled boat--hence it name "Katfish". Forward position of the outboard motor makes it virtually impossible to foul nets in handling. The manufacturer, Jack Crawford, of Sarasota, Florida, says that Katfish can cover one-third more area than conventional type fishing boats which tow skiffs for hauling in nets. The boat is 21 1/2 ft in length, is capable of speeds to 25 mph powered with a Mercury Mark 78 motor.
